Hello Payday Haul…

Hello Payday Haul…

So it was payday Tuesday, it’s my birthday tomorrow and I thought it’s time to treat my self! So I went into boots and managed to purchase some products from my favourite brand at the moment – NYX – and I do not regret it one bit. I thought since I love seeing haul videos on YouTube and reading fellow beauty bloggers posts about their makeup hauls, I’ll give you all a preview of my own little haul!

1. Pore Filler Primer £11.00

The first product I picked up was the “Pore Filler” primer, because for months I have wanted to buy a large size of Porefessional by Benefit after owning a little sample size last year, but I just can’t bring myself to spend that much money on a primer?? So when I came across this little beauty on the NYX counter, it sounded quite similar to the porefessional primer, could it be a dupe?! Now i know £11 sounds like a lot for a primer but I am IN LOVE with this product. I was slightly doubting it would be anything like the Benefit primer but as soon as I applied it to my skin, it looked flawless!!!! The primer smoothed out my skin, filled in my pores exactly what the product says it will and gave my face the perfect base for my foundation – Hello new found dupe!!

2. HD Studio Translucent Finishing Powder £8.00

When I first came across this product I was beyond excited because I have currently ran out of my Mac loose powder and my all time favourite Laura Mercier powder (I cried a little). I had such high hopes for this product and thought it’d be a perfect drugstore finishing powder that I could add to my collection, but I was a little bit disappointed with this one. Now it may just be the first time I used it or how I applied it but I ended up with dried powder underneath my eyes where it began to clump up. The smell of the powder wasn’t pleasant at all and a thin white cloud was almost unavoidable when applying it but I’m not giving up on it yet! I was a little disappointed with this product but when it was on my face, on my cheeks and nose it created a flawless finish and made my skin so soft and smooth so I can’t really complain?! I think this product just needs to grow on me a little bit!

3. Professional Makeup Pigment £5.50

Out of this whole little haul I have to say these two products were joint favourites with the liquid suede lipstick. The rose gold glitter  (bottom swatch) is called “Stunning” and was the first glitter I picked up. Now it definitely suits its name for sure! The glitter itself has specks of white with a rose gold base and looks absolutely stunning under flash. The second glitter I picked up is called “Metallic Velvet” and is almost a dupe for the blue brown pigment from Mac that I’ve had my eye on for a while now. The colour has a light brown base to it with a teal blue glitter reflect mixed into it and is beyond gorgeous when applied. I am so in love with these glitters and have found myself reaching for them a lot this week after I purchased it. Both glitters compliment so many eye makeup looks and definitely don’t need any fix + spray to boost the intensity of the glitter!

4. Prismatic Eye Shadow – Frostbite £5.00

I am beyond obsessed with the colour of this Eyeshadow straight from the moment I saw it on the shelf and swatched it on my arm. It is an Iridescent white shadow that can be used to highlight your cheeks, inner corners and under the brow bone but also as an all over the lid shadow. I wore this shadow yesterday against a smokey deep brown shadow and it looked absolutely stunning. NYX definitely do not disappoint on their Eyeshadow and pigments that’s for sure!

5. Soft Matte Lip Cream – Stockholm £5.50

Ever since I found out about the brand NYX, the one product I have been wanting to get my hands on is the soft matte lip cream because everyone and anyone were talking about it. So during those many hours I spent looking in Boots I came across a row of these soft Matte lip creams and before I knew it my arm was covered in swatches. I have to say the colour I brought wasn’t my first choice as the colour I have been wanting was sold out but I was still loving the colour of “Stockholm”. The lip cream itself glides on so easily, it’s in no way drying and the finish to these creams make me love them even more. I must admit though on me, I did feel like the colour was too pinkish for my skin tone but I am so impressed with these and the application. I can just tell I’m going to have a little collection of these!

6. Liquid Suede Lipstick – Soft Spoken £6.50

So the last thing I picked up has to be one of the best products I have brought in a drugstore in weeks. I love all of the liquid lipsticks I own but they have nothing on this formula and this colour. I tend to find some liquid lipsticks go patchy or dry up and clump together after wearing it for a while, however the formula of this specific one is absolutley amazing. It isn’t drying, it glides on so easily almost like the soft Matte lip creams and doesn’t feel like you’re wearing a Matte liquid product on your lips. Then there is the colour of the shade I chose, I fell in love with it when I first swatched it and I’m even more in love with it when I’m wearing it on my lips. I can tell it’s going to also become one of my new go to products that will be seen a lot more!

So that is my little NYX haul, it’s not a lot of products but I did have to hold myself back a bit before I went too crazy! I hope you enjoyed reading this haul and may check some of the products out for yourself! Now because it is my birthday tomorrow (eeeek!!) I will not be posting as I know you’ll all understand but I will recreate my makeup look for you as a blog post on Sunday so keep your eyes peeled! Speak soon lovelies!

What’s the difference between the NYX lip cream and the liquid suede?

    • February 13, 2017 / 8:16 pm

The lip cream is a cream formula with a smooth creamy finish that doesn’t dry Matte then the liquid suede dries to a Matte finish and isn’t as creamy as the lip cream x

The soft Matte lip cream is a lot nicer for every day wear for sure x
