Look Fantastic: The Elle Edition Beauty Box

Look Fantastic: The Elle Edition Beauty Box

Being a full time student and a part time retail assistant running a blog can get pretty expensive, especially with all the latest beauty releases I beg to get my hands on. So imagine paying a small amount each month to receive 6 brand new products worth over £50 in total from just one service? I tried for the first time the Look Fantastic The Elle Edit Beauty Box and I was beyond impressed.

On the website of Look Fantastic you will find the beauty box section where it will show you the latest beauty box of the month and a selection to subscribe. Above I have shown the options of the subscription. Now I may be an affiliate with the brand but I paid for the 12 month subscription for £13 a month with my own money. Not only are you paying £13 for 6 products worth over £50 delivery is also quick and FREE!! So after 2-3 days my beauty box arrived in the post and I cannot tell you how excited I was to receive such a high quality, packed and sealed box – and yes even the packaging made me excited!

When it arrived all the products were packed neat into the box with pink tissue paper worms in the bottom and just from the first glance I was determined to sit down with my laptop and write this blog post to review it. I absolutely loved the selection of skincare, the eye mask/hair mask, a cosmetic product and a body product. I am going to review each product but I mainly want to review the box and this service.

Inside the box it contained:

Starskin Second Skin eye mask RRP £8.50 comes with two sheets that fit under each eye. The details given on the product are: ” it has been specially created for your delicate eye area – brightening, rejuvenating, and soothing tired eyes with vitamin-rich coconut juice. Your eyes will instantly look more wide-awake.” I began to try this mask starting with cleansing my face of my makeup and dirt on my skin, I applied the two eye sheets after leaving the packet in the fridge for 10 minutes. It says on the packet to do this to enhance the cooling affect which helps with puffiness. I found after peeling off both sheets the skin below my eyes was soft and I did feel as though the skin looked brighter than it did before the mask. However I think it would’ve worked a little more on older skin as I didn’t see any big improvements because of my age. But the serum residue left after the sheets was absolutely amazing on my skin!!

The next mask in the box was by far my favourite item from this set. The heat cure mask RRP £20.00 for 4 masks, is a self-heating hair mask from the company Redken, and it is described on the website “After just one application, the intense at-home, self-heating mask restores appearance of shine, conditioning and softness, and has 99% consumer satisfaction!” The mask has a panel that you peel off that activates the self heating which you leave for 3-4 minutes. Whilst you’re waiting for it to heat up it recommends to shampoo your hair then once you have rinsed, you apply the mask to the ends of the hair and leave it on for 10-15 minutes. Once rinsed and you have dried your hair you instantly see a difference. I was so so impressed by the shine and softness of my hair and the condition it left my hair in was incredible! Think this may be purchased in the near future!!

The next two items I successfully tried and used was this 3 in 1 moisturiser from Caudalie RRP £32 and the Skin chemists aqua repair facial serum RRP £39.00. After cleansing every morning and evening for the past week I have been using these instead of my normal moisturiser and serum, let’s just say my skin is thanking me for it. It has felt so soft and hydrated after using them both and as a person who suffers with dry skin after one or two uses of each I did find myself reaching for the aqua repair serum more and more. If I was to purchase one  product out of the two for sure it would be the serum. Gone were the days of waking up with flaky, dry dull skin and hello flawless foundation applications on my fresh, hydrated face – hell yes!!!

Now with these last two products I am yet to try the St Tropez instant tan gloss and I cannot wait to apply this before a party or an event to get that glow and shimmer I die for every summer! With the concealer unfortunately the colour did not suit my pale skin and was actually darker therefore I struggled a lot with this product but I am sure if it matched I may be reaching for it more than my Mac Studio Finish pot concealer, I guess i’ll have to find out by purchasing a lighter shade!
